Food Processing as Hub and Spoke model
ALEAP aims to create successful Hub-and-Spoke food processing and distribution systems using food and nutrition-related technologies. Also, ALEAP aims to support entrepreneurism and women and youth capacity building by providing required training. As a social responsibility, the organizationintends to introduce cost-effective nutritious food to the people of all economic levels. ALEAP encourages local foods with added nutrition, develops Rural Food Innovation Centers, provides food processing technologies, and establishes rural markets and market access for smallholder farmers. In this model, the food innovation center is the Central Hub,while the rural women are the Spokes. ALEAP acts as a catalyst and communication between the Hub and the Spokes.
ALEAP aims to develop Field Collection Centers and provide them with farm inputs. We intend to develop primary processing centers for basic processing functions like grading, grinding, cleaning, etc. The farm produce will be sent to Food Park for further processing.
